RN II - MST / Medical Telemetry

• Prescott Valley, Arizona

Assignment Overview

• Travel support for the Med Surg Tele and Multi Care unit
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour shifts, days
• 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• MST/PCU (Med Surg Tele/PCU)
• 30 beds across three 10-bed units
• Typical ratio: 1:5-6
• Remote Monitor Techs are used
• RNs read telemetry strips

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• Minimum 1 year in MedSurg
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry
• Must be willing to care for both MST/PCU patients
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Must be willing to precept nursing students

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telemetry

Patient Population / Clinical Focus

• Surgical: total hip and knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap
• Medical: MRSA, C-diff infections, suicide attempt, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, COVID
• Telemetry: chest pain
• Stable c-pap or bi-pap patients

Scheduling

• Every other weekend
• Holiday rotation
• Low-census standby rotation may apply depending on contract

Floating

• Float to Multi Care Unit and Pediatric unit to care for adult MST
• Float to West Campus MedSurg Tele
• First to float

Additional Notes

• No titrating drips required
• May be asked to precept nursing students
• Scrubs: any color except camouflage
