ICU Registered Nurse

Location

  • Charlottesville, Virginia

Job Type

  • Travel/Contract

Schedule

  • Night shift
  • 4x12 hours
  • 19:00–7:00
  • 36 or 48 hours per week available
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
  • Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day are worked
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Up to 40 hours of time off can be approved
  • No time off can be approved during the first 2 weeks of the assignment

Unit / Setting

  • Float pool assignment across ICU and intermediate care areas, including:
    • Medical ICU
    • Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU
    • Coronary Care Unit
    • Surgical Trauma ICU
    • Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU
    • Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit
    • Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit
    • Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit
    • Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit
    • ED boarders

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Critical Care Float experience within the last year
  • 1 year of Critical Care Float experience
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Experience with Epic

Experience / Review

  • Clinical review required before offer is finalized

Additional Notes

  • Adult inpatient role with pass/fail cardiac rhythm assessment during orientation
  • Fit testing is required for patient-facing clinical roles
  • Government-issued photo ID is required
