MS/Tele Float
Role Overview
- Travel/Contract RN assignment in Los Angeles, California.
- 26 weeks only.
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
- 36 hours per week.
- May float.
- Accepts 1st time travelers.
Unit Details
- Telemetry setting with general medical-surgical patients and moderate volume orthopedic surgical cases.
- Unit census: 36.
- Rooms/beds: 36.
- Ratio: 1:4.
- Every other weekend coverage required.
- No call requirement.
- Scrubs: Royal Blue.
- Patient population: Adolescents to Geriatrics.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Med Surg / Telemetry (3 years of experience)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or RQI
- NIHSS
- Ventilator experience
- Ability to read cardiac strips
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Post Cardiac Angiogram care
- Post MI care
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
- Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery care
- Blood Product Administration
- Experience with Epic
Required Certifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Stroke Certification
Required Skills
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Telemetry monitoring on the unit and remote monitoring.
- Use of Rapid Response Teams.
- Post Cardiac Angiogram.
- Post MI.
- Pre/Post Cardiac Cath.
- Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery.
- Blood Product Administration.
- Central line care/management.
- PICC line management.
- Starting IVs.
- Heparin protocols.
- Manage cardiac drips, no titration.
- Manage vasoactive drips, no titration.
- Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac.
- External CPAP/BIPAP.
- High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC).
- Nasal Cannula.
- Non-invasive airway management.
- Oxygen face masks.
- Tracheostomy management.
Scheduling Notes
- RTO must be included on submission.
- No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment.
