RN Peds

Overview

  • Travel RN role in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Unit: PIMC, located on Floor 6CT at Methodist Children’s Hospital.
  • 24-bed unit.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Pediatrics (1 year of experience)
  • Pediatrics experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • High Flow Nasal Cannulas experience
  • Trach/home ventilator experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trachs
  • Home ventilator experience
  • High Flow Nasal Cannulas

Unit Details

  • Patient ratio: 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity
  • Staffed with 1 charge RN, 4-8 RNs on day shift, and 1 PCT/UC; night shift has 1 charge RN, 4-8 RNs, and 1-2 PCT/UC depending on census
  • Typical equipment includes trachs, home ventilators, feeding pumps, central lines, chest tubes, syringe pumps, and High Flow Nasal Cannulas
  • Typical procedures include central line care and High Flow Nasal Cannula use

Floating

  • May float to Children’s Tower, including Pedi Surgical, ED holds, NICU, and Pedi Hem/Onc

Schedule

  • Every other weekend required
