Description
MedSurg RN
Role
Travel assignment for an experienced MedSurg RN in a 45-bed Med/Surg unit with adult medsurg and pediatric medsurg telemetry combined.
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS
- ACLS
- CA license
- 2-3 years of experience in the specialty
- Tele experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS
- Pediatric experience
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
- Call or standby required
- First to float
Unit Details
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5
- Charge nurse/team lead does not take a patient assignment
- No need for nurses to read and interpret tele strips
- Common drips include heparin and protonix
- Common equipment includes CPAP, BiPap, and high-flow
- Navy blue scrubs
- Unit orientation is 2-3 days
Floating
- May float to tele or OB if they have that experience
