MICU RN
Role Summary
- MICU RN assignment in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU.
- Floating is required, mostly to Medical/Surgical units.
- 36-hour schedule with day/evening/night coverage and every other weekend.
- Shift: 19:00 - 07:30.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
- MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Ability to read telemetry strips.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association.
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferably MICU experience.
Unit Details
- Unit name: Level III Trauma Center.
- ICU with Med Surg floating required.
- Patient population includes adult patients with substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock.
- RN-to-patient ratio: 1:2 or 1:1 with high acuity; 1:4 or 1:5 when floated to other Med/Surg areas.
