Required Qualifications

• IN RN license or compact RN license
• BLS through AHA
• At least 1.5 years of Level 1, Level 2, or tertiary experience
• At least 1 year of experience at a like-sized facility (450+ beds)

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks

Unit / Float Scope

• General medical and surgical units
• Floats only to other medical units

Clinical Setting

• General medical-surgical nursing care for a diverse patient population
• Common patient needs include chronic illness, GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders
• Procedures may include colonoscopies, thoracentesis, paracentesis, bronchoscopy, and minor surgeries

Key Duties

• Assessments
• Care planning
• Inter-professional communication
• IV therapy management
• Management of heparin and insulin drips
• Use of IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding pumps, feeding tubes, chest tubes, and heat/cooling pads

Orientation

• 8 hours of non-billable orientation
• Jump Start orientation includes 1 day of general hospital orientation and approximately 5 days of nursing orientation
• Epic classes are included

• Patient ratio: 1:5-6
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
