Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Salisbury, North Carolina
• 20-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling with oversight
• Call required
• Float required
• Every other weekend required
• No block scheduling
• RTO after booking is not allowed

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS
• IV start capability
• Cardiac drip titration and management
• Pre- and post-procedure patient care for cardiac patients

Unit Details

• Cardiac and stroke unit
• Cares for stable pre/post pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillator, and cardiac catheterization patients
• Also sees unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluations, CHF, dysrhythmias, new CVA, and TIA patients
• Uses telemetry and pulse oximetry
• Supports stable high-flow oxygen, chronic BiPAP, and stable COVID-positive patients
• Can titrate Cardizem drips
• Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover

Orientation and Work Expectations

• 36 hours of unit orientation
• Must be available every day during the first week for hospital orientation

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs, white scrubs, or a mix of both
• Novant t-shirts allowed
• Jackets must match uniform material and color
• No Crocs with holes
