Overview

• 13-week contract
• Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
• Unit: ER/ED
• Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center
• Average volume: 100 patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 based on acuity
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday
• Travelers are expected to float throughout the 60-mile zone they are hired into

Required Qualifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• RN license
• Must be able to read and interpret tele
• Must be able to perform Point of Care lab testing

Unit Details

• ER holds are intermixed within the ER
• No separate psych/seclusion rooms
• Charge nurse takes an assignment
• RT is available 24/7 and completes breathing treatments and ABGs
• Techs support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• No monitor techs

Floating

• May float throughout the zone hired into
• If there is an extreme need, may float within Zone 1: PEN, SFH, SFI, SMC, STM

Scheduling

• Leadership makes the schedule based on needs
• No call or standby requirement
