Burn ICU RN

Overview

• Travel RN assignment in Kansas City, Missouri
• Unit: BURN ICU
• 6 beds
• Adult-only unit
• 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Burn ICU (1 year of experience)
• Burn ICU experience within the last year
• BLS
• ACLS
• TNCC
• Experience with ICU level of care
• Burn experience
• Cardiac rhythm proficiency
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Hemodynamic drip titration proficiency
• CRRT training
• Experience with debridement
• Experience with dressing changes
• Experience with line insertion
• Experience with chest tube insertions and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• NIH certification
• ABLS certification

Unit Details

• Mixed-acuity department
• Patient ratios vary based on acuity
• Staffing includes Charge Nurse, RNs, Nurse Externs, and Paramedics
• Float scope includes ICU, PCU, and CCU
• On-call: N/A
• Scheduling requirement: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week scheduling period

Clinical Environment

• Procedures include debridement, dressing changes, line insertion, chest tube insertion and maintenance, and post-op procedural care
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Hill-Rom beds, call light system, and GE cardiac monitoring equipment
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Patients remain in the unit from admit to discharge regardless of level of care

• Trauma, Stroke, and Cardiac Verified Facility
• Must adhere to bedside shift report requirements
• Navy blue scrub top; navy blue or black scrub pants; scrub jacket required
• No T-shirts, hoodies, or sweatshirts allowed
