5S Trauma Stepdown RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Charleston, West Virginia
• Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3x12 or 4x12 schedule options
• 36 or 48 hour contract options
• 36 hours guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• Weekdays, EOW, float
• May be called off 1 time per 2-week pay period if necessary
• Blocked schedule requests may be accommodated
• Holiday RTO requests should be limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays

Unit Details

• 5S Trauma Stepdown (IMC/PCU)
• 25 floor beds, 6 step-down beds, 6 peds beds
• Intermediate care stepdown unit with an intermediate level of care
• Multidisciplinary team approach for multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients
• Travelers are not required to see peds patients
• The unit may use a traveler for floor beds only
• Ratios: Floor RN 1:5; SDU 1:3

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• Driver's License
• CPI
• IV Start
• Ventilator management
• Conscious Sedation experience
• Trauma experience

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC
• Background in PCU, IMC, Trauma, or SDU

Required Skills

• Vents
• Telemetry
• Level 1 trauma experience

Float Scope

• Clinician can be floated within scope to meet facility needs

Additional Notes

• Orientation/start dates are held every other week on Thursday
• Flu shot is required during flu season unless a valid medical exemption is approved
• COVID vaccine is not required
• Parking is free for travelers
