Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Overview

• Temp role in Mount Clemens, Michigan
• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of CT experience
• CT Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS
• ARRT
• Experience with Philips imaging equipment

Preferred

• Traveler experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and participates in computerized tomography scanning procedures
• Sets up, monitors, and operates CT equipment
• Transfers and positions patients using accepted safety and lifting techniques
• Applies immobilization devices as needed
• Obtains patient identification, allergy information, and pertinent medical history
• Prepares and injects contrast media intravenously as needed per protocol
• Makes and develops images for permanent file
• Records studies for future reference
• Organizes the daily patient schedule
• Maintains image quality and performs daily calibration and quality control
• Ensures proper repair of equipment and follows imaging protocols
• Handles electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copy
• Monitors patients for allergic reactions and assists with emergency medical situations, including basic CPR
• Maintains cleanliness of the work environment and department inventory
• Instructs new personnel as needed
• Assists radiologists and other physician specialists with specialized radiological procedures
• Reviews and records pertinent patient history and clinical data to aid diagnosis
• Maintains registry in accordance with regulatory agency requirements
• Participates in quality assessment and continuous quality improvement activities
