Overview

• Travel assignment in Canon City, Colorado
• 13-week contract
• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Unit

• ED
• Level IV trauma level
• 15 beds / 2 trauma bays

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS
• TNCC
• ENPC
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• NIHSS
• Must have NIHSS and TNCC

Schedule

• Self-scheduling and block scheduling
• Weekend requirement: minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday requirement: yes
• Call or standby: determined by nurse manager

Floating

• May float within Zone 1 if there is an extreme need

Clinical Environment

• Separate triage area
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• In-house security 24/7 in the ER
• Average volume: 45+ patients per day
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
• Common drips include cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• RT equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Phlebotomy is shared between phlebotomy staff and RNs

Additional Notes

• Driver’s license must be submitted
• Candidate interview process includes interview with the clinical team
• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required
