Home Health RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract registered nurse role in home health
  • Day shift: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Local candidates accepted

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders, agency policies, and the nursing process
  • Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
  • Typical caseload: 5–8 patients per day
  • Territory includes home visits and periodic office meetings
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Home Health (1 year of experience)
  • Home Health experience within the last year
  • Hospice experience
  • One completed travel assignment
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Driver's License
  • Experience with Homecare Homebase
  • Experience with OASIS

Schedule

  • Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Weekend rotation varies by location; one Saturday per month may be required
  • On-call varies by location and profession

Charting

  • Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase within the last 6 months
  • OASIS proficiency is required for RNs

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs required
  • Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
  • No guaranteed hours
