OR Tech
Overview
- Travel contract in Silverdale, Washington
- 13 weeks
- Day shift, 40 hours per week
- Main OR has 7 suites
- Level 3 trauma setting
- No neuro
- Inpatient and outpatient cases
- Housing can be difficult
Required Qualifications
- 2 full years of OR Tech experience
- Active BLS
- WA License
- Scrubbing required
Preferred Qualifications
- National certification is not required
Schedule and Call
- Monday through Friday shifts with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour options
- Block scheduling is allowed
- Weekend coverage is handled by call time
- 5-6 call days for techs
- Call response time is 30 minutes
- Holidays are covered by rotation
Floating
- CVOR may float to Main
- Main OR nurses may float to vascular cases if they have experience
Clinical Details
- Common cases include general surgery, bowel resection, robot rooms, Gyn, Urology, TURP, cystoscopy, lithotripsy, bariatrics, and plastics
- Dental has its own techs
- Ortho has its own rooms
- Very rarely eyes
Additional Notes
- 1 week of floor-specific orientation
- Scrub color is provided
- EPIC is used
