Description
Neuro ICU RN
Overview
- Travel assignment in Kansas City, Missouri
- 48 hours guaranteed
- Start date: 11/30
- 32-bed Neuro ICU
- 3 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend, or 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule period
- Floating may include NSICU, Cardiac Telemetry units (4 North and 4 Central), Progressive Care Unit (4 West), Burn Unit, ED Inpatient Overflow, and other units as needed
- Meditech documentation system
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Neuro ICU experience
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Trauma patient management
- IV administration of vasoactive medications
- Chest tube management
- Care of post-op surgical patients
- Cardiac rhythm identification and management
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Care of stroke patients
- Hemodynamic and ventilator management
- Chest tube placement
- Ventriculostomy experience
Preferred
- ICU experience
- TNCC
Unit Details
- Unit secretary available 0730-0000
- Patient ratio: 2:1
- Advanced skills needed: hemodynamic and ventilator management
- Procedures performed on unit: chest tube placement, ventriculostomy, moderate sedation, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, arterial line placement, and central line placement
- Requested skill set includes trauma patient management, IV administration of vasoactive medications, ventilator management, chest tube management, care of post-op surgical patients, cardiac rhythm identification and management, hemodynamic monitoring, and care of stroke patients
