Overview

• Role: Med Tele RN
• Location: Kankakee, Illinois

Required Qualifications

• BLS certification
• Illinois RN license in hand
• EPIC experience
• Drivers License required for submission to be considered

Unit Details

• Department: Med Tele RN
• Beds: 31
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5-6
• RNs read tele; centralized tele tech helps monitor
• Nurse aides are on the unit at a ratio of 1:10-12
• Charge nurse/team lead coverage varies by day and night/weekend/holiday shifts
• Common diagnoses include CHF, strokes, chest pain, DM, PN, COPD, detox, underlying cardiac conditions, and cath lab recoveries
• Experience with radial band and femoral cath recoveries
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, and octreotide
• CPAP/BiPAP is intermittent only
• Floating may include medical floors and step-down units with tele level patients
• Weekend requirement: every other
• Holiday requirement: every other
• No call or standby requirement
• Unit orientation: 1 twelve-hour shift
• Scrub color: Caribbean colored scrubs

Additional Notes

• Local placements are accepted if the clinician lives within 20 miles of the facility
• Clinical prescreen is required
• If recommended, the hiring manager has 24 hours to accept or decline the candidate
• No second phone interview will be conducted
