Description
ER RN
Role
- ER RN
- Unit: ER/ED
- Trauma Level 3
- 40 patients per day
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 based on acuity
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- Must float throughout the 60-mile zone
Required Qualifications
- ACLS
- BLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC
- Must be able to read and interpret tele
- Must be trained and perform Point of Care lab testing
- DL must be submitted

Unit Details
- ER holds are intermixed within the ER
- No separate psych/seclusion rooms
- Charge nurse takes an assignment
- Techs support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
- RT is available 24/7 and completes breathing treatments and ABGs
- Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, DM, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and HTN
- Common drips: standard ER medications
