Description
Neuro Med Surg RN
Role Overview
- Travel RN position in Neuro Med Surg
- 13-week assignment
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Weekend schedule: 2 of 4 weekends per schedule, or 4 of 8 weekend shift days; straight weekends may be considered
- Float needs are rare
- Adult patient population
- 22-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 1:6, up to 1:7 depending on ED holds
- Trauma Level I facility
- Must be available for holidays as determined during phone screening
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
- Experience with tracheostomy care
- Experience with mechanical ventilation
- Competence in dysrhythmia interpretation
- Complete and clear screenings before start
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- Department of Human Services fingerprinting
- FBI Department of Aging fingerprinting
- PA State Police clearance for employment
- Must have fingerprints submitted/uploaded before clearance
- Must pass a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on day one of orientation
Preferred
- Swallow Screen
- Trach and vent experience
- Neuro experience
Additional Notes
- Rapid start: must start by 10/26
- Orientation is weekly on Mondays
- Candidates must live 60 miles or more away to be considered travel
- Will accept fingerprinting completed within the last two years for FBI Department of Aging fingerprinting
- Scrub color: any
- Unacceptable attire includes hoodies, t-shirts, shirts with wording/pics, and facial piercing
