Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Los Angeles, California
• 20-week contract
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
• Start date: 11/16, no exceptions

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 2.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or RQI
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• AWHONN Advanced
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams
• Experience managing high-risk patients
• Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm
• Advanced fetal monitoring experience
• Use of External Fetal Monitoring
• Recognition and Treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience circulating for C-sections

Unit Details

• Labor and Delivery unit with 4 Triage, 11 LDR, 2 OR, NICU, and Post-Partum
• Low and High Risk L&D
• 24 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia support

Skills

• Use of External Fetal Monitoring
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate for C-section

Scheduling Expectations

• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Mandatory on-call: 2 times per month, in addition to the 3 shifts
• May be placed on call if not needed for the scheduled shift
• Must work most holidays
• No RTO for the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum 3 days of RTO
• 1 holiday RTO may be submitted, but approval is not guaranteed

• RTO must be submitted with the application and cannot be changed after submission except to cancel requested time
