Overview

• Travel/Contract role in Alton, Illinois
• 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• No call
• No weekends
• Adults and geriatrics
• Acute Medical Unit with medical and telemetry patients
• 24 beds
• Average daily census: 16–18
• Staffing ratio on nights: 1:5
• Float required within service line and scope
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Locals not accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Pending license not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS

Preferred

• CPI
• Epic charting familiarity

Clinical Focus

• EKG rhythm identification
• Non-titrating cardiac drips
• Care of acutely ill adult and geriatric general medicine/surgical or infectious disease patients who may require telemetry monitoring for non-acute cardiac conditions
• Advanced medication infusion without titration increase; decrease/weaning allowed
• Pre- and post-procedure evaluation and care
• Neurological assessment and care for AIS/TIA patients

Exclusions

• Active and unstable gastrointestinal bleeding
• Uncontrolled ischemic chest pain with unstable vital signs
• Continuous NPPV
• Tenecteplase (TNK)
• Insulin drip
• Neosynephrine
• Nipride
