Surgical Tech

Overview

• Contract role in Mauston, Wisconsin.
• Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7am-5:30pm.
• Weekend call rotation: 7am Friday through 7am Monday, with a 15-minute response time.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room, including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.
• Pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon during surgery.
• Maintain a clean and sterile surgical environment.
• Assist the surgeon during procedures.
• Keep records of use of Steam Sterilizer.
• Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
• Keep suture carts organized and monitor expiration dates.
• Turn over rooms between cases.
• Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
• Assist with patient positioning pre-operatively and transport patients between cart and bed.
• Stock adequate supplies for surgery.

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience.
• BLS.
• NBSTSA.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.
