MS/Tele 3rd Floor RN
Overview
- Location: Gig Harbor, Washington
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Unit: MS/Tele 3rd Floor
- Beds: 96
- Shift: 12-hour days, 7a-7p
- Weekly hours: 36
Required Qualifications
- RN license: WA or Compact License
- BLS
- NIHSS
- 1 year experience
- Telemetry experience
Clinical Details
- Common patient types include CHF, COPD, PNA, general surgical, stroke, and cardiac
- Ratios: 1:4-6
- RNs are required to titrate drips
- Common titratable/set-rate drip: Heparin
- Monitor techs are on the unit; RNs validate, read, and document strips
- Charge nurse and house supervisor coverage: Yes, both
- Nurse aide ratio: 1:8-16
- All beds are telemetry capable
Schedule / Unit Expectations
- Weekend requirement is based on unit needs/demands
- Holiday requirement: 2 of 3 major holidays
- No call or standby requirement
- Floating: all RNs may float within their scope
- Orientation: 3 shifts
- Scrub color: Navy top and bottom
