3 West - Med Surg - 6140 RN (Registered Nurse)

Location

Salisbury, Maryland

Assignment Details

13-week contract
12-hour night shifts
Every other weekend
No call
8 hours of non-billable orientation
Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation

Unit Information

Medical-surgical unit
30–35 beds
Typical census is 30, can go up to 46
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–7
Care for 5–7 patients
May have surgical patients, but not usually
Non-oncology
Common diagnoses include CHF, renal failure, pneumonia, Cdiff, and DM

Required Qualifications

Min 2 years of recent experience
Active American Heart Assoc BLS
Active MD or compact state RN license

Responsibilities

Admissions, discharges, and transfers
Tele monitoring

Floating

Float to other MS units

Additional Notes

Local candidates are not accepted; 50-mile radius restriction
Client may call off or cancel up to 12 hours per 13-week assignment
Medication competency is given on the first day and requires an 80% passing score; one retake is allowed
