Description
MedSurg/Tele Float Pool RN
Role
Travel contract RN for a MedSurg/Tele Float Pool assignment in California.
Required Qualifications
- 2 full years of experience
- Active BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- CA License
- Must be able to read and interpret strips
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic arrhythmia course certification
Assignment Details
- 13-week contract
- Start date: 12/7 only
- Orientation in December only
- Unit: MedSurg/Tele Float Pool
- Shift: Days, 12 hours
- Schedule: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Expected to work holidays
- Floating: Must be able to float to tele/read interpret strips
- Highest level of care worked: MedSurg and tele
- Common patient types: ESRD, DM, COPD, ETOH
Unit / Workflow Notes
- Charge nurse does not typically take patients
- Nurse aides are available unless pulled for sitters
- Tele monitoring required
- Vents: Bipap and CPAP
- Hospitalist in house
- RT 24/7
- Pharmacy 24/7
- Floor-specific orientation: 1 hour to show where things are; no full day of MedSurg orientation, but a day of tele orientation is provided
