Role Overview

• Travel/Contract RN in the UC San Diego Float Pool.
• Float pool locations include Thornton (La Jolla), Jacobs (La Jolla), Hillcrest, and East Campus (La Mesa).
• RN must be willing to work at 3 locations during the contract.
• RN may float to EDIP (emergency department inpatient overflow in the ER).
• Patient populations include Cardiac, Neuro, General, Stroke, Medical, Surgical, kidney, Liver solid organ transplant, and Trauma.

Schedule

• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:00.
• 4-week schedule is sent two weeks in advance.
• No blocked or self-scheduling.
• RN receives a phone call 2 hours before shift with the facility assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Critical Care Float (2 years of experience)
• Critical Care Float experience within the last year
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Heart Association/RQI or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Heart Association/RQI or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada
• NIHSS
• Phlebotomy
• PICC lines
• Chest tubes
• Vents
• Tele
• IV start

Preferred Qualifications

• Pulmonary artery lines.
• ICP.
• BSN.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks.
