Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in San Diego, California.
• Based in the UC San Diego Float Pool.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.

Role details

• Primary assignment is PCU float.
• RN must be able to work 4 locations during the contract.
• May float to EDIP (emergency department inpatient overflow in the ER).
• Floating scope includes all PCU units and down to MS if census permits.
• Unit coverage includes general medicine, surgical, neuro, onc, cardiac, and ortho.
• Staffing ratios listed: IMU 1:3, Tele 1:4, MS 1:5.

Required qualifications

• Valid RN license in California.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience).
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or National Health Care Provider Solutions or Military Training Network or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
• IV Certification.
• NIHSS.
• IV start.
• A-line experience.
• Phlebotomy.
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam.
• Color Blind Testing Online.
• Competency Exam.
• California Medi-Cal Search Result.
• Physical Exam.
• Fit Mask.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray.
• TB Questionnaire.
• Rubeola (Measles).
• Mumps.
• Rubella.
• Hepatitis B.
• Varicella.
• Drug Testing.
• 2 references covering employment within the past 2 years.
