Schedule: 40 Hours/Week, 8-Hour Day Shifts
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Requirements:

• Massachusetts RN License required

• BLS-AHA Certification required

• Minimum 2+ years of psychiatric nursing experience

Position Overview:
The Psychiatric RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient psychiatric setting. This role emphasizes therapeutic communication, patient advocacy, and critical thinking to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Patient Care & Advocacy

• Provides safe, competent care within scope of practice

• Ensures pain management and timely response to patient needs

• Advocates for patients and families to ensure positive outcomes

Assessment & Planning

• Completes admission and ongoing assessments based on patient needs

• Develops individualized nursing care plans including educational and discharge needs

• Considers developmental levels and patient-specific concerns

Implementation & Documentation

• Implements physician orders, patient education, and discharge teaching using “teach back” method

• Documents all patient interactions, interventions, and responses in a timely and accurate manner

Evaluation & Safety

• Evaluates patient outcomes and modifies care plans as needed

• Maintains patient safety in compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals, and HIPAA

Leadership Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and support to team members

• Acts as a resource or preceptor for new staff

• Delegates tasks appropriately and ensures assignments consider acuity, patient flow, and staff expertise
