Travel Respiratory Therapist – Acute Care
Syracuse, NY
Start Date: 03/02/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Travel Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Syracuse, New York. This is a day shift opportunity in an acute care setting ideal for RTs who are confident working independently with minimal orientation.
Position Overview:
The Respiratory Therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory care services to patients in an acute care environment. Candidates must be comfortable performing a wide range of respiratory therapies and responding to emergent situations.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer positive pressure and aerosol therapy
-
Initiate and monitor oxygen therapy
-
Assist physicians with initiation and maintenance of continuous mechanical ventilation
-
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
-
Perform pulmonary function testing
-
Perform radial arterial punctures
-
Deliver high-quality patient care with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
-
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Respiratory Therapy required

Current New York State license/registration as a Respiratory Therapist required

Minimum of 2 years post–A.A.S. clinical acute care experience required

Pediatric experience preferred
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to function independently in a fast-paced acute care environment
