Registered Nurse (RN) - Rehabilitation Unit

Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Deliver superior quality nursing care aligned with organizational core values.
  • Prioritize patient and employee safety in all aspects of care.
  • Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
  • Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide timely patient status updates during initial and weekly team conferences.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
  • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs.
  • Educate patients and families to achieve health goals and quality outcomes.
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
  • Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
  • Seek consultation for complex clinical decisions.
  • Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel.
  • Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
  • Contribute positively to unit functioning and team building.
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
  • Provide cost-effective care while promoting quality outcomes.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation, as requested.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Prioritize and plan activities for effective use of time and staff.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience (highly desired)
  • Ability to supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees
