Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist (Travel Contract)
Job Description
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs and physician direction.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities.
- Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers.
- Perform professional duties related to patient care, therapy service development, and program delivery.
- Maintain compliance with organizational mission, core values, and code of conduct, including confidentiality.
- Promote patient and employee safety, focusing on safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious diseases, slips/trips/falls, and work environment safety.
- Follow hospital guidelines for personal appearance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Possess necessary skills and competencies to perform job functions according to the population served.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive patient evaluations and develop treatment plans with goals aimed at discharge within an established length of stay.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, including equipment trialing, patient/family training, and planning for continuing services.
- Manage caseload flexibly, including coverage and communication of care plans.
- Conduct individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions efficiently based on patient needs.
- Complete clear, concise, and timely medical documentation, including daily notes, goal writing, quality assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry.
- Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and insurance approvals.
- Participate in student programs by providing supervision, learning objectives, and evaluations.
- Develop and pursue individualized professional development plans.
- Engage in patient and professional advocacy activities.
- Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional licensure and complete state-mandated continuing education.
- Perform ethically according to professional codes of conduct.
- Support organizational performance improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
- Valid, current State license for Physical Therapy
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Physical Therapy (highly desired)
