Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - PRN Day Shift
Job Summary
- Deliver superior quality nursing care following established care plans.
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on assessments.
- Identify patient/family teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient status updates during team conferences.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs on assigned units.
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit functioning and participate in team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs.
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities after orientation as requested.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritize activities and manage time and staff effectively to meet patient needs.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of Long Term Acute Care nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
- Rehabilitation nursing experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
