Physical Therapist
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and modify treatment plans based on patient needs and physician direction.
- Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients.
- Design functional treatment programs to support effective return to community activities.
- Educate patients, families, students, and coworkers.
- Perform professional duties related to patient care, therapy service development, and program delivery.
- Maintain compliance with organizational code of conduct, confidentiality, and professional standards.
- Promote patient and employee safety, including safe patient handling, materials handling, infectious disease precautions, and fall prevention.
- Complete comprehensive patient evaluations and develop treatment goals focused on discharge within an established length of stay.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address discharge barriers, including equipment trials, patient/family training, and planning for continuing services.
- Manage caseload flexibly, including coverage and communication of care plans.
- Document medical records clearly, accurately, and timely, including daily notes, goal writing, quality assessments, letters of medical necessity, discharge documentation, and charge entry.
- Ensure care is provided under valid physician orders and insurance approvals.
- Participate in student education programs with supervision and evaluation responsibilities.
- Develop and pursue individualized professional development plans.
- Engage in patient and professional advocacy activities.
- Adhere to state practice acts, maintain licensure, and complete continuing education.
- Participate in organizational performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Florida.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift.
