Job Opportunity: Cat Scan Tech

Location: Morristown, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel Contract (Clinical - Allied)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform CT scanning procedures with professionalism and service excellence.
• Prepare and maintain medical, surgical, and radiological supplies according to protocols.
• Maintain sterility of field and instruments.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to alleviate anxiety while respecting privacy and dignity.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient privacy policies.
• Verify patient identification per policy.
• Monitor patient condition before and after contrast injections; report changes to nursing staff and Radiologist.
• Ensure availability of medical records, previous reports, labs, and patient history.
• Respond to emergencies and complications as needed.
• Maintain adequate linen, contrast media, biopsy/drainage supplies, and inventory in scanning rooms.
• Assist with daily inventory, stocking, and cleaning of CT equipment and rooms.
• Coordinate emergency and unscheduled procedures, ensuring efficient workflow and patient safety.
• Communicate patient status with relevant departments and ensure timely patient transport post-procedure.
• Screen patients for allergies and medication incompatibilities related to contrast use.
• Maintain QA/QC requirements according to daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
• Recognize and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
• Follow venipuncture and power injector protocols.
• Handle urgent imaging cases (e.g., Code Grey, Trauma) with immediate processing and communication to Radiologist.
• Notify Radiologist of any unusual findings to optimize patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey
• CT Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• High School Diploma or GED, or completion of a Radiographer Technical training program from an accredited School of Radiography or College-based Radiography program
