Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Shift: Day (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, you will provide safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. Responsibilities include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized plans of care, mentoring staff, and promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support a financially stable unit while adhering to evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and practice governance.
• Promote teamwork and effective communication.
• Plan discharge needs and address cultural and ethnic considerations in care.
• Prioritize tasks for patients with complex conditions.
• Stay informed on relevant research and evidence-based practices.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Acute care nursing experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health records system
• Demonstrated involvement in quality improvement initiatives
