Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care while promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting, and participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent clinical decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide education tailored to patient and family needs throughout the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks and foster teamwork among staff; serve as a mentor and preceptor.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement processes and comply with regulatory standards.
• Recognize complex patient data to prioritize care and anticipate discharge needs.
• Address cultural and ethnic considerations in care planning.
• Utilize evidence-based practice and contribute to staff education and research discussions.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Kentucky.
• Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Acute Care nursing experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.
• Demonstrated commitment to service process improvement.
• Cultural competence in patient care.
• Application of evidence-based practice in clinical settings.
