Job Description
- Provide nursing care to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex under general supervision.
- Responsible for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe and intervene as necessary.
- Administer medications, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Communicate care plans to patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
- Experience with Impella, balloon pump, heart recovery.
- Proficiency in Impella, IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump), CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy), post open heart day 2 care, and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation).
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Skills
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Some computer skills.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
