Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 24-hour rotating shifts including nights and possible evenings
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Possible evening shifts: 9:00 – 9:30 PM or 11:00 – 11:30 PM
• No on-call required
• Possible weekend shifts

Required Credentials and Compliance for Onboarding

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid nursing license with primary source verification (NURSYS and Board of Nursing required)
• BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
• Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30), no exemptions allowed
• MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
• Fit test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date
• Criminal background check, CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks completed within required timeframes
• Education verification of highest degree achieved
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)

Additional Required Documents for Submission

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above)
• Skills checklist
• Candidate submission coversheet

Required for Onboarding (Must be completed before start)

• MGB NWH Self-Study Orientation & Attestation
• MGB/CDH Medication Exam (minimum 84% passing)
• Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form
• Criminal background and CORI checks with attestation
• Influenza vaccine documentation
• TB test documentation
• Health statement
• Education verification
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if applicable)
• National sex offender and exclusion checks

Optional but Preferred

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years
• Documentation of chest x-ray if positive TB test

Notes

• No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine
• Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
• Flu mist administered by pharmacy or provider accepted; self-administered flu mist not accepted
• Background checks include international searches if applicable
• Criminal and exclusion check results are vetted for final approval
