Job Description

• Full-time Nursing Supervisor role with 36-hour shifts rotating through days, evenings, and nights every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
• Responsible for administrative, operational, and clinical oversight across all services during assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Acts as the clinical resource and patient care representative, collaborating with medical staff and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care and environment.
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and perform cardiac drips, including medication titration.
• Responsible for notifying Administrator-On-Call of serious issues, incidents, and disasters.
• Conduct rounds in all patient care areas, focusing on high-acuity patients.
• Collaborate with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical teams during off-shifts to coordinate patient care and environmental needs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Minimum 3 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Ability to perform cardiac drips, including medication titration

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System

• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations and/or proof of immunity for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella).
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if there is a break in service longer than 6 months.
• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity strongly preferred.
• Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years preferred.
• Fit testing for N95 respirators within 1 year of start date and updated annually.
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation if fit testing is required.
• Physician health statement within 1 year of start date and updated if break in service exceeds 6 months.
• Criminal background checks, including state and national registries, must be completed and cleared prior to start.
• Verification of highest education level and professional license required.
• Completion of skills checklist and medication exam within 1 year prior to submission.

Additional Requirements for Submission

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state.
• Two professional references within the last 4 years, including at least one supervisor or higher.
• Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet must be completed and submitted.

• This position requires the ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role.
• Must be able to respond effectively to patient condition changes, disruptive behavior, and equipment malfunctions.
