Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Unit: 41-bed Medical Telemetry Unit
Shift: 36 hours per week, rotating day shifts every other week; night shifts are straight nights
Shift Details:

• Day shifts rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, and 7p-7a
• Evening and night shifts have a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shifts have a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a medical telemetry unit caring for patients with cardiac, respiratory, metabolic, psychiatric, substance use disorder, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal conditions
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Administer cardiac drips and manage TR bands and high-flow oxygen
• Floating to other applicable units as needed is required
• Charting/documentation performed in EPIC electronic medical record system

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Additional Requirements

• Must complete and upload respirator medical clearance attestation if fit test required
• Positive TB test requires negative chest x-ray documentation
• Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity strongly preferred
• Tdap vaccination within 10 years preferred
• Name change documentation if legal name differs from credential documentation
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for any assignment changes
