Unit Details

• Unit Name: Pingree 5
• Description: New 24-bed private room inpatient medical telemetry unit
• Patient Population: Adult medical patients
• Bed Count: 24
• Census: 24
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 4-5 patients
• EMR System: EPIC
• Floating: Required
• Shift Requirements:

  • Night shifts and every other weekend (EOW) coverage, 36 hours per week
  • Rotating shifts required to cover open night shifts
  • Day rotate positions rotate a couple of shifts per month

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• Ability to read cardiac telemetry strips (telemetry monitoring required)

Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS: Required for onboarding (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
• ACLS: Optional but preferred; required for all RNs on Observation Unit at Salem
• Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required before start; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted
• Fit Test: N95 fit test within 365 days of start, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
• TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start, updated if >6 month break
• MMR: Documentation of vaccination or immunity proof required
• Health Statement: Physician statement within 365 days of start, updated if >6 month break
• MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing score within 365 days required
• MGB Dysrhythmia Exam: 80% passing score required
• Criminal Background Checks: Including Massachusetts CORI, National Sex Offender Check, Exclusion Checks, and SSN Trace, all updated as required
• References: Two recent references required, at least one supervisor or above in skillset
• Skills Checklist: Required for submission
• Resume: Must include past 7 years of work experience with city and state
• Candidate Submission Coversheet: Required for submission

Additional Preferred/Optional Requirements

• Hepatitis B: Strongly preferred (vaccination or immunity proof)
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed
• Tdap: Preferred within last 10 years
• Positive PPD: If positive, negative chest x-ray documentation required
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs comfortable with cardiac monitoring, flexible with rotating shifts, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
