Job Opportunity: RN Cath Lab - Travel Position

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Facility: WIMIL CSM Milwaukee Hospital (Ascension Health)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Four 10-hour shifts, 0600-1630
• Call:

  • One call night during weekdays (1700-0600)
  • One call weekend every 4th-5th weekend (1700 Friday - 0600 Monday)
  • Holidays covered by call as needed
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience
• System: EPIC electronic health record
• Additional: May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• Current nursing license with Nursys verification within 30 days prior to start
• License/Certificate primary source verification within 30 days prior to start

Required Onboarding & Competency Requirements

• Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics; annual update)
• Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
• Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
• Ascension Nova StatStrip training
• Ascension Epic Test-Out (training and test results required)
• Ascension Specialty Exam (updated every 3 years)
• Ascension Badge Photo (professional headshot)
• Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills, updated annually)
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen (within 30 days prior to start, updated annually)
• Ascension Criminal Background Check (7-year search, updated annually)
• Ascension EPLS (Exclusionary Provider List System) check (within 90 days of start)
• Ascension Education Verification (within 90 days of start)
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment (provided upon initial assignment and updates)
• Ascension Employment Verification (past 7 years, updated annually)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Fit Test: Required annually (specific mask types for WI and MI)
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Optional, but if declined, mask required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• TB Screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year, and annual TB questionnaire
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required within 30 days prior to start
• Varicella: Proof of immunity or two vaccine doses (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)

Additional Notes

• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start; disciplinary actions require FACIS questionnaire
• Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for onboarding
• Floating to other sites within 40 miles may be required based on department needs

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab RNs who are comfortable with travel assignments, flexible scheduling including call shifts, and meeting comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
