Description
Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Boston, Massachusetts
Specialty: Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Boston, MA
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience
- Minimum 1 year travel nursing experience
Required Credentials & Compliance for Onboarding
Licenses & Certifications
- Professional Nursing License: Primary source verification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required.
- BLS Certification: Required prior to onboarding (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred).
- Fit Test: N95 respirator fit test within 365 days of start date, updated annually. Must be completed prior to start; no onsite testing available.
- MGB Medication Exam: 80% passing score within 365 days required for RN & LPN.
- MMR Immunity: Documentation of required vaccines or proof of immunity via blood test.
- Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30); no exemptions allowed.
- TB Test: Documentation of TB skin test or negative blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if >6 month break.
- Health Statement: Physician statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date; updated if >6 month break.
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation: Required if fit test is required.
- Additional Preferred/Optional Vaccines: Hepatitis B (strongly preferred), Tdap (preferred).
Background & Professional Checks
- Criminal Background Check: Within 45 days prior to start; includes county and international searches if applicable.
- Massachusetts CORI Check: Within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal history from age 17 onward.
- National Sex Offender Registry Check: Within 30 days prior to start; updated annually.
- Exclusion Checks: OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid exclusion lists within 30 days prior to start and annually.
- Social Security Number Trace: Must be run with criminal background check covering last 7 years.
- Education Verification: Highest level of education verified through background check.
- References: Two recent references required, including at least one supervisor or above in the relevant skillset.

- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state details.
- Skills checklist specific to the assignment.
- Candidate submission coversheet (current version).
Additional Notes
- Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray documentation is optional but may be required if applicable.
- TB symptom survey required if positive PPD, updated annually.
- Confirmation of assignment form required for all initial assignments and extensions.
This position requires strict adherence to credentialing and compliance standards prior to and during the assignment. Candidates must be prepared to provide all required documentation and complete all necessary testing and background checks within specified timeframes.
