Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health
Location: Holyoke, Massachusetts

Job Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse with experience in adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric care to join a new 84-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts) including every other weekend and some holiday coverage.
As a founding team member, you will help develop and deliver high-quality psychiatric, emotional, and substance use treatment in a collaborative, empowered, and non-judgmental environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients, families, and legal guardians.
- Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu based on core behavioral health principles.
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Contribute to individual treatment plans by developing, implementing, and documenting goals and interventions informed by patient strengths and psychiatric needs.
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed.
- Take charge responsibilities when required (no additional multiplier).
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Current RN license in Massachusetts required.
- BSN preferred.
Experience
- Minimum one year of adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric experience required.
- Previous psychiatric/substance use inpatient experience preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, and crisis intervention preferred.
Skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of behavioral health and substance abuse treatment modalities.
- Application of nursing process from a trauma-informed recovery model.
- Ability to develop therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Crisis management, time management, delegation, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Flexibility, creativity, and ability to manage stressful situations calmly and professionally.
