Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg & Telemetry

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Details

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)
• Specialty: Med Surg & Telemetry
• Shift: Nights (7 PM – 7 AM), 4 shifts per week (4x12)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours (36 hours option available upon request)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (3 months) minimum, up to 26 weeks (6 months)
• Number of Openings: 2
• Weekend Requirement: Every other full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required unless otherwise approved
• Holiday Requirement: Expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day)
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: Float as needed/customary upon request

Unit Information

• Department: Med Surg / Telemetry
• Patient Population: Adults only; approximately 50% Medical and 50% Telemetry patients
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment: Standard nursing equipment for Telemetry unit
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of Telemetry nursing experience required
• Certifications:

  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform direct patient care activities including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all adult age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort and outcomes
• Function within the scope of nursing practice consistent with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and facility standards
• Maintain a team-player attitude with superior communication skills and focus on positive patient outcomes

Additional Notes

• Manager interviews all candidates within 24 hours of offer; final approval required
• Up to 5 days off per 13-week period can be automatically approved; additional time off requires manager approval and may need to be made up
