Job Description

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Oncology Infusion team. The position involves providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care in a clinical setting. The role supports the nursing mission, practice values, and strategic plan of the healthcare system.

Schedule

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members using the nursing process and critical thinking to care for patients.
  • Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and state laws.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation according to established standards.
  • Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to their level of understanding.
  • Participate in department/unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
  • Offer clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity.
  • Manage complex situations, delegate appropriately, and escalate issues through the proper chain of command.
  • Contribute positively to the professional and organizational environment.
  • Engage in personal development and continuous learning, including evidence-based practice guideline development or revision.
  • Support and participate in peer review and feedback processes.
  • For clinic and ambulatory roles, maintain timely patient flow, respond to telephone calls, and perform telephone triage.

Additional Duties

  • May include variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and/or on-call hours.
  • May float to various units based on needs and clinical competency.

Requirements

  • Wisconsin RN or Compact RN license
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy (ONS) Certification
