Description

Job Opportunity: CT Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
  • Shift: 10:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
  • First-time Travelers Accepted: Yes
  • Floating Required: Yes, to sister facilities

  • Charting System: Epic

Required Certifications

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (check unit description)

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (must be updated annually)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
  • HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
  • Education verification including foreign equivalency if applicable
  • State license verification (Primary Source Verification within 30 days of start)
  • NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score 85%)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates on/after 8/2/2024, must score 80%)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain units)

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit mask test within 12 months of start, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination highly preferred for certain specialties
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, vaccines, or documented history required
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination preferred

  • Must complete various facility-specific training modules and attestations, including but not limited to:
    • Stroke Education (for RNs except pediatric specialties and NICU)
    • CLABSI Prevention Training
    • Preventing Pressure Injury Training
    • Language Services Training
    • CAUTI Education Training
    • Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
    • Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
    • Pyxis ES MedStation Modules
    • Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
    • Patient Bedside Rounding Module
    • Ventricular Assist Device Awareness
    • AME Blood Administration Module (annual update required)
    • New Employee Orientation Module
    • 21st Century Cures Act Module (for specified specialties)
    • ED Handbook (for ED/ER RNs)
    • eCart Training Module (for most RNs)
    • Chaperone Policy Training
    • EMU Caring Course (for EEG Techs)
    • EPIC Testing (for RNs with Epic experience)
    • Vaccination Booster Medical Exemption (if applicable)

Employment History & Documentation

  • Must provide a 7-year work history with no gaps greater than 90 days
  • Work history verification required for all start dates on/after 8/2/2024
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required for certain tech roles including CT Tech

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • Floating to sister facilities is required.
