Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Position involves covering RN duties while staff are trained on EPIC system.
- Shift: Day Shift, 7 PM to 7 AM (12-hour shift)
- Must be licensed to work in Missouri (Kansas license preferred).
- Experience required with patient types including:
- Endocrinology (DKA/Diabetes management)
- Pulmonology (Cystic Fibrosis)
- Neurology
- Tracheostomy
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have experience with specified patient types.

Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA only, HeartCode accepted, RQI not accepted

- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA only, not required for RRT or OR

- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Required for ER/Peds ER
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – Required for Behavioral Health Techs and RNs in Crisis Center
- RRT Tech Certification – Required if applicable
Licensure
- Must be licensed in Missouri (KS license preferred).
- NURSYS verification required for all RNs.
- State License 1 Verification (Primary Source Verification) required.
Compliance and Background Checks
- Government issued photo ID required on person during hours of service.
- Background check within 3 months of start, including:
- Every county worked or lived in past 7 years
- Sex offender search
- Statewide search for Missouri and Kansas
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated every 6 months.
- Missouri Highway Patrol Check required.
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (initial and annual) attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Immunizations and documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- Rubeola (Measles) – proof of 2 vaccines or titers
- Mumps – proof of 2 vaccines or titers
- Rubella – proof of 2 vaccines or titers
- Hepatitis B – documentation of 3 vaccines, titer, or declination
- Varicella – proof of 2 vaccines or titers
- Seasonal Flu Vaccine (2025-26) or medical/religious exemption (exemptions require agency-specific form; declinations not accepted)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (not required annually).
- Respirator Safety Clearance or Respirator Questionnaire as applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific forms including health form, TB questionnaire, medication review packet, and parking permit request prior to start.
- Pass/Fail testing on EKG/Medication dosage with 100% passing score during orientation (3 attempts allowed).
- Pediatric pharmacology and competency exams required.
- Color blindness testing required for clinical candidates.
- References: 2 supervisory references or performance evaluations verified within 1 year of start.
- Employment application and pediatric skills checklist required.
