Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Intermediate Care (MSI)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
• Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
• Floating: Regular floating within scope may be required between departments, units, and facilities
• On-call: Not required
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• Telemetry skills, including on-unit monitoring

Special Requirements

• Experience caring for post-cardiac catheterization patients
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks (quarterly)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree
• Professional license verification (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
• Drug testing within 1 year, including a comprehensive panel
• Physical exam within 1 year
• Fit mask testing (N95) with annual renewal
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption during flu season
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology, unit-specific, and dysrhythmia/EKG competency (within 12 months)
• Color blindness testing within 12 months
• Skills checklist within 1 year (oncology skills checklist if applicable)
• References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
• Employment application required
• Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene, fingernail, and dress code policies
• Regulatory compliance education completed annually via WorkRamp
• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions)

• Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts over 13 weeks
• Candidates may be required to complete facility orientation and healthstream modules prior to start
• Must adhere to facility policies including hand hygiene, dress code, and fingernail policies
• Floating and holiday shifts may be assigned as needed

This position is ideal for Registered Nurses with at least 1 year of medical-surgical experience who are comfortable working night shifts in a community hospital setting, with telemetry skills and post-cardiac cath patient care experience. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
