Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lees Summit, Missouri

Job Details
- Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Intermediate Care (MSI)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
- Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Skills Required:
- Telemetry monitoring (on-unit)
- On-call: Not required
- Floating: Regular floating within scope may be required between departments, units, and facilities
- Holiday Shifts & Charge RN Assignments: As needed
- Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 75 miles from facility)
- Pending License: Not accepted
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts over 13 weeks
- Special Patient Care: Post-cardiac catheterization patients

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM quarterly checks
- HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- Education verification of highest nursing degree
- State-specific searches and highway patrol checks for Missouri
- Fingerprinting required for Illinois long-term care or rehab units (not required for Missouri)
Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only, if applicable
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AHA or AAP, if applicable
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), if applicable
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring), if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification (annual update required)
- CPI or MAB (Management of Assaultive Behavior), if applicable
- IV Certification for LPN/LVN if applicable (Missouri only)
- State License Verification (Primary Source Verification required)
- NURSYS Verification for Missouri licenses
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must meet passing score)
- Color Blind Testing (within 12 months of start)
- Unit-specific Competency Exam (annual update required)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (within 12 months, 80% pass rate)
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit Mask (N95) testing and annual renewal required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination (Tdap every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year)
- Immunizations or immunity documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B declination required (facility-specific)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April)

- Latex Allergy Questionnaire (annual)
- Confidentiality Form (annual)
- Regulatory Compliance Education (annual, must score 80% or higher)

- Orientation Modules (required for RNs and LVNs, approx. 16 hours, completed prior to start)

- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
Additional Notes
- Floating between units and departments may be required to meet facility needs
- Candidates must be prepared to work holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments as needed
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible for this travel assignment
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in medical-surgical or intermediate care telemetry units, comfortable working night shifts, and willing to travel for a 13-week contract in Missouri.
